Image Device
Imaging device
The first imaging devices have been a sheet of grain photographic film. Nowadays CCD cameras are widely used. The big advantage of the CCD camera is that it creates a digital single which can be sent to a computer. With a computer which uses an imaging processing software and control of the lens system, images can be produced quickly and automatically. As a disadvantage, CCD cameras are limited in showing total intensity differences.
The
Tecnai F30 G² at the TEM Center Kiel has a fluorescent screen and two CCD cameras in use, the Gatan GIF Tridem ultrascan camera and the Gatan CCD
ultrascan camera.
